The Master of Industrial Design (MID) program at Pratt Institute is a rigorous, studio-based graduate program that emphasizes critical thinking and hands-on making. Located within the School of Design in Brooklyn, NY, it is known for balancing conceptual inquiry with technical skill-building, preparing students to become thoughtful practitioners capable of navigating diverse design challenges.

Playful Discovery

"Playful Discovery" explores how curiosity, movement, and hands-on engagement shape learning experiences across disciplines. From interactive STEM toys to sensory-rich environments, these projects reimagine education through play, material exploration, and embodied knowledge.

Future Systems

"Future Systems" envisions innovative solutions for emerging challenges, rethinking materials, spaces, and human interactions. From responsive architecture to environmental impacts of pharmaceuticals, these projects propose new frameworks for a more adaptive and conscious world.

Nurturing Wellness

"Nurturing Wellness" explores design’s role in supporting mental, physical, and emotional well-being. From dementia care to posture awareness and emotional healing, these projects propose thoughtful solutions that enhance health, connection, and quality of life.

Spatial Narratives

"Spatial Narratives" examines how physical space influences relationships, behaviors, and interactions. From ADHD-friendly furniture to performance environments and urban ecosystems, these projects explore design’s role in shaping inclusive, functional, and emotionally resonant spaces.
